Watching Richard Linkler's 1991 film entitled Slacker put me to sleep, but then I was awoken by a woman that was repeating "You should never traumatize a woman sexually. I should know, I'm a medical doctor." and remembered that I wanted to post some Del Tha Funkee Homosapien tracks on the old Posterous Accout. Frederick Offrein vs. The Dogme 95

Frederick Offrein has been thinking a ton about his greatest contribution to film; The Russian Terminator. Frederick Offrein has realized, that as a model, his ability to communicate emotion with his facial reactions is so slight that audiences cannot help but sense indifference. Frederick Offrein also noticed that his English was not the most impressive and that his few lines only raised the levels of confusion and worthlessness. Frederick Offrein was pleased to know that Mats Helge hired many actors exclusively to enhance Frederick Offrein's screen presence, but Frederick Offrein thought that the addition of high octane chase scenes and explosive Blue Turkey Disco Tech bar fights only yielded a product that would become the antithesis of the Dogme 95 Manifesto.

Frederick Offrein sees The Dogme 95 Manifesto as a threat to his kind of cinema. Thus, Frederick Offrein views the Dogme 95 Brotherhood as "Foe Kino." Frederick Offrein was jumped by Harmony Korine and Lars Von Trier metaphorically, but Frederick Offrein was able to metaphorically retaliate with the assistance of David Caradine and a few other gifted Faux Kino talents. Frederick Offrein has had a lot of issues with his closest celebrity friends dying lately. Rumors circulated in the early 1970's that Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett, Ed McMahon and Steve McNair were involved sexually with Frederick Offrein. However false these claims were, they were close enough to being accurate. Frederick Offrein spent most of the 1970's modeling and cuddling with models and various other celebrities that visited Sweden during that decade.

Farah Fawcett first met Frederick Offrein while vacationing in Zurich. They just so happened to bump hands when fishing through public ashtrays for cigarette butts. Offrein noticed the yellow tint to Fawcett's hands and thought that she was an Asian woman with large locks of golden hair. Oddly enough, Farah Fawcett thought the same of Offrein and the two resisted their inner urges to get caught up in the "Yellow Fever."

A couple years after their first visit Frederick Offrien and Farah Fawcett were scheduled to both be on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson and that was when they both met Ed McMahon. Frederick Offrein and Farrah Fawcett were solicited by Johnny Carson, on behalf of Ed McMahon. Offrein immediatly rejected the offer to fuck Ed McMahon and in the process lost out on getting a go with Farrah Fawcett. As it turns out, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon would fornicate on that night after the show for the amusement of Johnny Carson while Frederick Offrein stood outside of the dressing room to keep fans from interrupting the entertainment.

Frederick Offrein felt so alone after being the fourth wheel in a voyeristic excursion that he met up with the Jackson Five after McMahon, Fawcett and Carson all cleaned up. Frederick Offrein was only really interested in spending time alone with little Michael Jackson and he asked the young music star to come back to his motel and watch Fantasia with him. Michael was so intrigued by Frederick Offrein's big bushy beard that he couldn't even attempt to say "no."

As Michael Jackson matured he continually looked back to the night that he and Frederick Offrein spent together. Some people cite Frederick Offrein as the source of Michael Jackson's public display and rationalization of cuddling with little boys. Though this might be true, that is not the end of Frederick Offrein's influence on MJ. Michael Jackson has gone on the record as to credit Frederick Offrein for inspiring him to buy his first Monkey Friend, Bubbles.

Frederick Offrein missed out on a lot of great experiences with Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMain and Michael Jackon because he was able to maintain his ability to abstain from sexual relations. Because of this Offrein made sure to use former NFL star Steve McNair as a object for his sexual satisfaction.

Orson Welles: Faux or Foe?

Recently Frederick Offrein has been pondering whether Orson Welles represents Faux Kino or Foe Kino. In the process Frederick Offrein has concluded that portions of Orson Welles career could have been representative of either movement.

Faux Kino is confrontational in spirit and approach while seeking to undermine Foe Kino. Orson Welles, an arrogant and mindful man, initially took the world by storm when working over the radio waves. The War of the Worlds had cemented him as a worthwhile contributor to culture and thus afforded him the opportunity to deploy a cinematic attack on another arrogant and mindful man, William Randolph Hearst. Each man was looking to undermine the other, as well as their contribution to society, and thus created a tension between productive forces that ultimately made for a greater product and deeper more informed meaning. This battle took place in multiple mediums and ultimately further solidified each other as greats.

Frederick Offrein believes that Orson Welles represented the Faux Kino spirit with his attacks towards Hearst. However, Frederick Offrein remembered that his entire paradigm was founded on The Russian Terminator and collapsed in the back lot of the Speak Easy while getting a blow job from a 15 year old Swedish Boy. The boy sucked off Frederick Offrein so hard that his only thought was the contension between Welles and Hearst, the respective left and right testical within his scrotum. Offrein realized that Faux Kino is completely absurd and didn't need to illustrate anything at all and tried to suck his balls into his stomach as to not ink semen on the boy's face. What is Faux Kino? What is Foe Kino?

I was consulting with Frederick Offrein as to the direction the Frederick Offrein Kino Club was taking and it seems as though there have been a ideological shift as to what the Kino Club should be conducted. Some people, the foe, wish to prevent the faux from manifesting into the for real. Now, what this means is that there have been roadblocks in the way of edification and education and eventually evangelical epiphanies were equated with the Russian Terminator -- is Frederick Offrein god?

Frederick Offrein could be, but no one knows/knose for certain and that is where the split was first conceived. Foe Kino clubbers are informed by ignorance where as Faux Kino clubbers maintain doubt and continually test the world and its information to make a further more impactful sense of what it means to worship Frederick Offrein.

Foe Kino stands as a road block to progression and needs to be destroy. Foe Kino is the enemy where as Faux Kino is the true kin of the Frederick Offrein Kino Club. However, there seems to be another split, a third split, where by introduces a paradigm of "wild beasts" called Fauv Kino -- this may or may not be "real."

What side will you take in this fight of cinematic sense making? Well, Frederick Offrein would like to ensure you that Faux Kino is completely absurd and free from obligation where as Foe Kino strictly enforces indifference and ignorance. You decide the side you wish to represent, but know that the wild beast within will not be contained for long.

Opening Night of the New and Improved FOKC

FOKC's founder, Robert Morton (aka Rupty) and I came up with an idea of changing space to more cohesively function with people while we were discussing the relations of people and objects. Over the next few days, Rupty and I began to come up with themes and general functions we desired from one room to the next and we got out other room mates (though initially unsure with our changes) and moved every piece of furniture to a new thought out location. Once we were comfortable and most satisfied with our changes, we decided it was time to unveil the New and Improved FOKC to our good friends.

We found ourselves finishing in time for us to throw a collective birthday extravaganza for two of the FOKC's members who share a birthday weekend! Coincidently, they also had beards! And thus, the catchy alliterated name for the event was born! The Frederick Offerin Kino Club presents: The Battle of the Beards Birthday Bash!

I, being named the FOKC's Cooking Czar, was in charge of the food. I spent the entire night (into the wee hours of the morn' with Zach Condon & Beirut accompanying me, preparing a delicious assortment of snacks to entertain with. To start things off, we had a refreshing assortment of fruit (strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, blueberries, and melon).

Next, we had delectable sandwiches which included: Chicken Cashew Salad, Cucumber-Dill, Egg Salad, and a personal favourite; Bleu Cheese, Walnut and Pear. Later, we broke out the main event...Mini Pumpkin Spice Cheese Cakes (for Birthday Boy 1) and Mini Black Forest Cakes (for Birthday Boy 2.) And finally, we decided to unwind with some Cheese & Crackers and Wine. We even had some grapes, too! We enjoyed cheeses such as Brie, Bleu, Smoked Gouda, and Goat Cheese. Wines included White Zinfendel, Burgundy, and my favourite; Reisling. It was the perfect way to end the evening.

Everyone had a blast, from dancing to our hearts content, singing loudly together (even creating some of our own spontaneous music), and playing an enormous and wildly entertaining game of Apples to Apples. Splendid times we had, indeed!

So, my THANKS goes out to all of you lovely and fabulously talented and good people who came out to join in our festivities. You made our place come alive, and it was just what Rupty and I set out to accomplish. I hope to see you all again soon, and would love for you to bring others like yourselves.

I just recently stumbled upon a record made by Bob Kovachick and was blown away by the lo-fi dance pop melodies. Honestly, I would not recommend purchasing this album before sampling some of his tracks first. This might be labeled as a "greatest hits" but feels more like the b-sides to Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music spliced together with the Tom Tom Club's self titled album.

New Recipe for the Kino Club!

Croque Madame (or Croque Monsieur, for those who prefer it without an egg.)

What you will need:
*A good quality sliced bread (I recommend a nice Sourdough or French Peasant.)
*Dijon mustard
*Swiss cheese (I loved Baby Swiss for this recipe.)
*Sliced ham (I used Sahlen ham.)
*1 Egg (optional.)
*A pat of butter

First, turn a skillet on Medium-High and let the butter melt.
In the mean time, take one piece of bread per-sandwich and spread some mustard on it.
Next, place both pieces of bread in the skillet once the butter has melted and start browning.
Place a few slices of ham on the bread with the mustard, and a few slices of cheese on the other piece of bread. Let toast to your preference. Usually it's good when the cheese has melted.
Once the cheese has melted, assemble the sandwich and gently press the sandwich together.

*Keep sandwich warm in a 200 degree oven in the mean time, or fry egg in a separate skillet while waiting for the sandwich to cook.

Now fry an egg (over easy or sunny-side.) Season with salt and pepper to taste, and once done, place atop the sandwich and enjoy!

German Potato Salad; Another Kino Club Favourite!

10+ Red skinned potatoes (about the same size)
1 large Onion
1 lb. thick cut Bacon
2 tbsp.+ Dijon Mustard
1/3 c. Cider Vinegar
1/4 c. Sugar
Chives

1.) Wash potatoes, and chop into equal sized chunks (with skins on.) Place in a pot of cold water, generously salted and bring to a boil. Cook until tender (about 10-15 minutes.)

2.) Meanwhile, in a pan on MED-HIGH, cook the bacon (chopped) until crisped. Remove from pan, and drain grease (leave only enough bacon grease to coat the bottom of the pan) and return to MED heat. Add in the onion (diced) and cook for about 3-4 minutes until translucent and slightly browned.

3.) In a cup, mix the sugar, vinegar, and mustard until well blended. Return heat to MED-HIGH, and add the mixture to the pan when the onion is cooked. Allow the mixture to bubble and thicken slightly (about 5 minutes.) Once the mixture is bubbly, add the potatoes and toss to coat; add the bacon and toss again. Chop the chives then add to the potato salad. Serve warm and enjoy!

PFFR, the team behind Wonder Showzen, are back with their second season of Xavier: Renegade Angel. What doth Xaiver, you ask? Well, Xavier is a snake armed fauna with deep questions and is forced to assist townfolk while on his path to arriving at the answers. Xavier: Renegade Angel packs more mind fudge into 15 minutes than any other product of this century. Even the weakest episodes of Xavier are jam packed with irreverent dialogs and socially conscious themes. This is the only television show that I regularly schedule my life around and it is worth watching repeat episodes because Xavier's ramblings are so metaphysically dense that multiple viewings of the show will induce subversive euphoria.

Curried Chicken -- A Favourite at the Faux Kino Club.

my version of curried chicken & vegetables

1-2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast
salt and pepper (to taste.)
1 tsp. garlic
1 tsp. ginger root
fresh vegetables of choice: zuccini, carrots, peas, green beans, bell peppers, or broccoli
red or green curry paste (to taste.)
24 oz. coconut milk (unsweetened.)
2-3 stalks of green onion (optional.)
jasmine rice (to serve curry over.)

step 1:
over medium heat, chop chicken into chunks and brown in a pot with salt and pepper.
add in finely minced garlic and ginger (1-2 minutes.) then add vegetables (i usually add 3 different veggies; ex: carrots, zuccini, and green beans.) cook only until softened slightly; about 3-4 minutes.

step 2:
add in curry paste (at least 2 tbsp. or more, depending on your preference of spiciness.)
stir for about a minute, and then add in coconut milk. increase heat and bring to a low boil, then add in thinly sliced green onion. reduce heat and keep warm.

step 3:
cook jasmine rice as per package directions, serve immediately and enjoy!

Thirty-Three compact discs in all. All belonging to either John. In the short time remaining until the viewing of Casablanca at Proctors theatre, L. John asked H. John if there were enough time for him to make a quick compilation of the 31 Albums that were in H. John's car.

H. John agreed to L. John's request being they wanted to listen to something on the way to the showing. H. John's car was a standard transmission and his compact disc player was portable and was transmitted to the car via a tape deck.

L. John pondered where to put tracks by Lou Reed, Bishop Allen, Wolf Parade, Fiery Furnaces, Hot Chip, TV on the Radio, The Kinks, Nirvana and KRS-One in relation to others. He knew time wouldn't afford an amazing playlist so he decided that he'd have to pick one album and then burn that one. H. John was downstairs and outside continuing to move trash out of the way so L. John, and potential guests, had a place to sit.

L. John Earl and H. John Garth lived together in Schenectady, New York. Being roommates in a one room studio apartment for quite sometime had lead to many instances when they were mistaken as something more. Up close the Johns looked nothing alike. When peeped from a distance they'd read like a Homosexual couple weekending in the Mohawk Valley. If it were a weekday, they'd be coworkers. However, if it they were seen after dark they would appear to be brothers. These two Johns would work this into their routine as often as possible.

"Do you want to go to Proctors tonight? They're going to playing Casablanca on the big screen."

L. John replies with his hands reaching out to his keyboard and his eyes fixated on his computer monitor. "No." It was a weekday, L. John couldn't let himself be mistaken as a coworker to H. John.

"The showing is in..." H. John consulted his cell phone "...an hour." It was six hours past noon. "If you decide to change your mind."

L. John looked in the bottom right hand corner of his monitor and saw the time himself. After adding up the single hour to the time he derived a plan so foul that it'd make H. John cringe. "I'll go if you pretend to be my date." Still looking forward he waited until he was given a response.

"Yeah, I don't know about that"

"It will be dark by then, John." At this point L. John is looking over to H. John, who just so happens to be sitting on the John. "People would think we're incestuous."

H. John drops a deuce which is caught by the toilet's splash. In that moment his eyes pull away from L. John's and he silently breathes relief. "What the fuck are you talking about?"

L. John stands up and shouts "Let's be brother fuckers!"

H. John leans over to pick a medley of receipts and food wrappers off of the floor with both hands. "You're gross, dude!" He then wipes and flushes.

"Yeah well, think about all of the people we could meet."

"Who the hell would want to hang out with gay brothers?" walks over a thin sheath of disposable products that covers the entire floor. "Anyway there is this English Major that is going to be in attendance tonight."

Both Johns were out of College. Despite being in a town dominated by a private school, they previously attended New York State Universities. H. John graduated. L. John failed out. Either way, both still worked service sector jobs and the bulk of their friends were still undergraduates.

L. John pauses for a moment and then his mouth opens and his arms go limp and dangle toward the floor. For an instant he believes he was invited along to be a third wheel. "Oh, so you have a date already?"

"Nah, that's the thing." H. John bypasses L. John to get to his corner of the studio. "She's an attention whore."

L. John turns to H. John and says "So what?"

"I'm not going to play her game." H. John is now laying on the pile of clothes that he sleeps on. "Anyway, she is going with classmates." H. John then stretches and reaches for a piece of literature to flip through. "I figured you'd enjoy the film."

"How much are tickets?"

H. John responds while his eyes meander the pages of a pamphlet. "Free, if you go, but no incest brother shit!"
